We have been very busy around the Barnett house. School is coming to an end and there is a lot that goes along with that. Also we have an almost 16 month old..and there's a lot that goes with that too. haha. Anyway, things are busy and fun and it's been awhile since I've updated this blog, so I thought I would while I had a few minutes...
Noah: My most challenging child. I love him so much. But, he definitely tests my patience on a daily basis. We are so SO thankful at how well he has done at school. His behavior has been practically perfect all year. His school work is great. He is in the top reading group and is doing accelerated reader. But, most importantly he is becoming more social and has made friends (our biggest concern). However...I feel like all of this has come with a price. Our relationships at home have suffered. He is tired and irritable when he comes home. He is sensitive to everything. He and Nathanael used to get a long so well. These days they seem to fight more than they get a long. He is having a lot of "meltdowns" at home. And it is just exhausting. We're not sure what to do or where to go from here. We (mainly I) are contemplating home school. I just don't know. Even though he is thriving at school..sometimes I feel like home school may be a better option for us. There are a lot of benefits (and there is such a huge homeschool community around here). Okay, don't really want to get on this soapbox right now. It's just an option. I'm going to talk more with his pediatrician at his 6 year check-up and we'll go from there. Parenting is just hard sometimes.
On a positive note - Noah decided to memorize the presidents. For fun. All of them. In order - first and last names (and some middle). The boy amazes me. I got him to say them on video, but for some reason my camera is having issues uploading on the computer. When I get that all straightened out I will post it on here :)
Nathanael: He had his preschool graduation. He is now promoted to the pre-K class. His program was so cute. I cannot believe how fast this year went..it really seems like yesterday that he just started! Nathanael was picked to hold the American flag while all the classes said the pledge. We were so proud. He has also done great in school. He is learning new things everyday. He writes his name very well and is very good at coloring. His personality is so different from Noah. He is so laid-back and easy going. He has made a lot of friends at school. He is a big helper for me at home too and is definitely a pleaser. He gets so upset if he gets in trouble and is quick to say he's sorry. Bless him.
Nicholas: Oh mercy..this baby. Nicholas is growing and is doing new things everyday. He is running everywhere. This week he started climbing more on things (especially chairs..and then standing on them. very frightening.) Also, he is getting really good at running and kicking the soccer ball around the yard. It's crazy to watch! I think he is going to be a little athlete. And, he is definitely my most out-going child. He doesn't meet a stranger. He is a big talker. He talks and jabbers all day. He can say so much now! He can repeat almost anything. And he loves to laugh and have a good time! He loves his big brothers (especially Nate). They're a lot of fun to watch together. He is also super affectionate. I love it. He'll just come up to me randomly and say "awww" and give me a hug or kiss. He is just such a joy and a little stinker at the same time. :)
So, that's a little update on the boys. We're so ready for Josh and Noah to be finished up with school so that we can get started on our summer fun! Woo hoo!! :)

Yay!!! Sounds like fun! I will be praying for God to guide you on your decision for Noah and school. We need to make a summer date! :)
