Dear Nicholas,

My sweet baby..you turned TWO! I am still in denial. I look at you and still think "baby". I guess that may always be the case with the baby of the family ;). This year flew by so fast it's scary. What an amazing little boy you are! You do so many things now and are so big. Your vocabulary is astounding! You definitely do not talk like a 2 year old. It's so cute. You're like a 5 year old trapped in a 2 year old body..hehe. Here are a few examples of things you say..
"Guess what, Mom?"
"Hey, Mom! Where did Nate-Nate go?"
"I love you, _______ (Mommy, Daddy, Noah, Nate-Nate, etc)"...usually followed by a kiss :)
"1, 2, 3....waking up Daddy!"
"I love class" (Bible class)
"Don't worry Mom, don't worry" (as you're patting my face with your little hand) :)

You are definitely our most talkative and out-going child. You talk and talk and talk all.day.long. I love it! You love going to church and seeing everyone. Your favorite is Mr Steve our song leader. You always run up to him and love to play with him and will say "Hi, Teve" about 20 times. He's like a big kid and you love him! And he loves you.

You love to pray at dinner time. Lately you have been saying the prayer every time we sit down to eat supper. It goes something like this "Dear God, thank you Mama, Daddy, Noah, Nate-Nate..amen!" with your little hands folded and eyes closed..it's about the sweetest thing ever.

Speaking of dinner time, you are my best eater! You will eat just about anything and I love that. Sometimes your big brothers will turn up their noses at new things that Mama cooks, but not you. It's great! Hopefully you will stay that way :)

You love to play. You love to play with your toys (especially with Daddy) and you love to play outside! You also really like books. I love having you all snuggled up in my lap and reading books. And many times you will sit in your crib and will read books for a good 15-20 minutes by yourself (just enough time for your Mom to get a shower!). You also love when Noah reads to you. It's the sweetest thing to see you crawled up in Noah's lap and him reading you a story.

You adore your big brothers. They love you too. You will copy and imitate everything they do. If they want to play Mario on the Wii, you will get your pretend controller and play with them. The sweetest is when you go up to them and give them a hug and a kiss. You'll say "I love you, Noah" or "I love you Nate-Nate". I've never seen a more affectionate 2 year old little boy!

You are still very attached to me though. If I'm home, you only want me to put you to bed. You want to know where I am in the house. When I'm cooking dinner, you want to be right there with me. If you get hurt or are sad, you only want me. You are Mama's baby for sure. :)

You have learned so many things! You know almost all the colors, some numbers and letters. You can sing the alphabet almost perfectly and can almost count to 10. You love to sing..we sing songs a lot :) You like to watch "shows"..especially Baby Einstein, The Wiggles, and Mickey Mouse.

You had a great 2nd Birthday party! We had a small family party at home and it was really fun. Grandmama, Granddaddy, Uncle Frank and Aunt Allyson, Grammy and PaPa, Colin, Tiffany, Charlotte and baby Henry all came. We had snacks and cake (Mickey Mouse airplane) and ice cream. You were so cute when we all sang happy birthday to you..you loved it. After we sang you said "Yay!!" and clapped your hands with the biggest smile on your face. Then, you opened your presents. Noah would bring you presents and you had lots of help opening them :) You had a lot of fun!

This is the sweetest. Period.

You are still a big boy! It will be interesting to see how big you are at your 2 yr. old checkup in February. You wear mostly 3T clothes. You still are a little blondie and your hair has gotten a lot thicker..you need another haircut! We'll  see if it stays blond like Nate's or turns brown like Noah's. I love your big blue eyes and just melt when you flash your dimples :).

Nicholas Charles, I can't believe you are already two!! You are such a blessing - our family would not be complete without you. You bring so much love  with your sweet words and affection. You bring so much joy...you are such a happy boy 95% of the time and keep us laughing with your expressions and funny sayings. You are definitely a little ham! Your brothers love you so much too..in fact Noah was mad at us (me and Daddy) yesterday because we got on to him..he said he was going to run away to Uncle Frank and Aunt Allyson's. But, he wanted to take you with him. :) We can't wait to see what this year brings for you!
