So, this is basically just going to be a big ol' bragging post on the boys. Because I'm their Mom and I can. :)
The boys have been doing some great things lately and I'm just so proud!
Noah - has been the biggest helper lately. So so sweet. His manners and attitude have blown me away. He has been a huge helper with Nicholas and I'm thankful! The other night, Josh was late getting in and I had several things I needed to get done (baths, dinner, etc.) all before Bible study that night. Noah stepped up and helped with so many things. It was great. SO great. He got 2 stickers on his chart that night.
- Noah also has been interested in football lately. My not-caring much of anything sports related (and kind of scared at balls coming at his face) child has become quite the little sports guy. He has picked up frisbee and is pretty good! And, just this week he's decided he likes football. So, Josh and I both have had fun throwing the football with him in the backyard. He has a great throw! And is catching it without being scared! We've come a long way. I see his confidence building before my eyes.
- 2 great things have happened for him at school. One - he got the best handwriting award (not sure if it was of the boys of the whole class) and got a special note pad that he calls his "diary". He has great handwriting! And for a boy, that's impressive! Two- he achieved his AR goal for the 9 weeks! Yay!!! Proud of my little reader. :)
Nathanael- got the star student award for the week for the kindergarten class! He was chosen for his good behavior and upholding the behavior pledge for NCS. This also means that he got to pick a surprise from the treasure chest in the principal's office. He picked a stuffed bear (not surprised..the kid loves soft and cuddly things). But, the BEST and sweetest part of this story is - the reason he chose the stuffed bear was because he thought Nicholas would like it. I kid you not. Nate came home and the first thing he did was go straight to Nicholas and say "Nicholas, I got you something today!". And, gave him the bear. I was stunned. What 5 year old does that? I am so proud of his sweet, sweet heart. And feel so blessed to be his Mom. :)
Nicholas - Is potty trained! Woo hoo! We're only down to diapers at night and I don't think it's going to be long before we don't need those anymore. He's woken up dry several mornings. AND, something that he has done great with that his older brothers struggled with is pooping in the potty!! He has done it 5 or 6 times already! Not having to change another poopy diaper again sounds great to me. I'm so proud of the big boy he is becoming. He is my fastest and earliest one to potty train (it helps having 2 older brothers who are good examples).
I am loving the "kid" stage that we're in now! Getting past the baby/toddler stage has been great. It's so much fun/easier doing things with the boys and I'm enjoying every minute. :) Good things!!!
Now, the boys are officially on fall break and we have lots of fun stuff planned this weekend and next week including:
A visit to the pumpkin patch
The zoo to see the kangaroos!
A trip to visit PaPa and Grammy
Wienie roast at the Drake's
Yay!! Fall is here!!!!!

Yay!! Sounds like things are great in the Barnett house!! Nicholas, what a big boy you are! Yuo may have to teach Cole a thing or two. Especially with pooping, the boy is terrified :( Have a great fall break!
