I love Fall.

I haven't blogged in a while. It's a busy time of year! Man, I love fall. It's definitely my favorite. Well, until Christmas comes around and then I think it's my favorite. But, right now fall is my favorite ;). It's becoming a beautiful autumn here in Tennessee! The leaves are absolutely gorgeous right now. And, the weather has been so nice.

We've been taking advantage of this beautiful weather. The Saturday before last the boys and I spent the day at my parents house. We had the best day. The weather was perfect. Mom and I packed a picnic lunch and we took the boys up to the church camp near my parents house. We had a picnic outside and the boys loved that. Then, we hiked through the trails up at the camp. My boys are like their Mama- they love to be outside and they love nature. Especially Noah. He's been known to have his pockets and everyone else's pockets FULL of "treasures" he's found outside such as rocks, nuts, leaves, grass, snail shells, acorns, pinecones... etc. And, then he wants to bring them all inside. Yay. I love that he loves nature. But, some nature needs to stay outside. :) We had the best time hiking and exploring the trails. And I enjoyed chatting and catching up with my Mom. Then, we had wonderful dinner of homemade broccoli cheese soup (my Memaw's recipe), cornbread and homemade pie. YUM.  I love going to my parents and getting spoiled :). What a perfect day.

Last week was fall break for Josh and Noah. I loved having my Noah home. I miss that boy! Anyway, we did some fun things. On Monday we took the boys to pick out their Halloween outfits at Party City. Noah decided on Woody the cowboy and Nathanael is going to be a dinosaur. Nicholas is going to wear the scarecrow costume that his older brothers wore that I love. They tried them on and are so so cute. I will post pics next week of all the Halloween festivities :). On Tuesday we went to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens to see the scarecrows and train exhibit. We had great weather. The rain held off and we had a good time. Different groups and organizations design all these scarecrows throughout the trails for everyone to see. There were definitely some creative ones! And the train exhibit was really neat. The boys loved it. Here are some pics from Cheekwood...

On Thursday, we left for Russellville, AL to spend some time with "Grammy" and "Papa" - my in-laws. Like I've said before, the boys love going there. The trip down was fine. Nicholas did great and actually napped some in the car. Again, the weather was wonderful! On Thursday, the boys had fun playing outside with the dogs and playing in the big playroom with all the toys. Of course, Nicholas is everywhere now, so that was a little more challenging.   But, we had more hands to chase him around which was nice. :) And, Grammy cooked the BEST supper of turnip greens, beans, fried squash and potatoes and cornbread. SO good.  On Friday, we drove to a playground about 30 min. away and took a picnic lunch. Josh The boys had a blast playing on all the fun equipment. Papa grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs for our supper which was great. Josh's sister, Betsy was able to come in too and visit and we played Rook after the boys went to bed for a couple of hours. Fun times! We had a great trip.

I'm lovin' all the fun fall activities. And I love being able to share all these experiences with my favorites :). Life is good!
