Spring Break

This year my parents invited us to go to Gulf Shores with them. YAY!! We love the beach. The big boys went a couple of years ago to Destin with some of our best friends from church and they had the best time. I wasn't worried about them..I was worried about Nicholas. He had never traveled that long in the van and 8+ hours is a long time for a 14 month old. I was also worried how he would do in the sand, in the condo, would he sleep...etc. Well, he did really good (thankfully)! The ride down was not bad at all. Noah and Nate did great. Nicholas did good too. We just had to stop quite a bit. But, that was okay..it broke the trip up and it was nice for everyone to get out, stretch our legs and get some fresh air.

The condo was perfect! The big boys had their own room with bunk beds (they loved that). Noah was on top, and Nate on the bottom.  It was nice for them to have their own space to go to and relax. The condo was set up in a way where we could close the doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms and Nicholas could pretty much roam around as he pleased. And there was a big ottoman where we put toys and books for him to play with and he liked that. The balcony was so nice too. It was big enough for everyone to go out there and get fresh air and enjoy the beautiful view. We loved being able to look outside and watch/hear/smell the ocean. Heaven. Okay, I want to go back now.

The boys liked the beach. Especially Noah. But, it was really windy while we were there and the waves were crazy. So, we didn't go in too far. And, unfortunately there were a lot of jellyfish, so we had to watch out for those. The water was cold, but you got used to it pretty fast. The pool was really nice! The boys loved it. It even had a very shallow (an inch deep) where Nicholas could splash around in. He liked that a lot. Nate loved the pool the best. He could stay in it for hours. There was also a hot tub that wasn't too hot and kids could get in. Noah loved it! He called it the "warm pool" and we would have to make him get out of it. He would've probably stayed in it all day.

We had some great food. We had fried shrimp and oysters (yum), fish sandwiches, and the most wonderful dinner our last night of fresh grouper with crab on risotto. It was ridiculous. Josh and I love seafood, it's probably our favorite.

I was really proud of the boys. They were so good. They are great travelers. Yay! The only thing that was kind of tough was Nicholas didn't like sleeping in the pack-n-play and would sleep with us most of the night. But, it was doable. We definitely want to go back! Hopefully next year.

Here are a few pics from the trip:
