First day of school!

So, Thursday was the boys' first day of school! Wednesday night I laid out their clothes (matching uniforms :)) and Josh and I got their school supplies all organized. Josh and I both got up extra early on Thursday morning. I made cinnamon muffins before I got the boys up. I woke them up and they were excited about the first day. Noah was so cute telling Nathanael everything to do..first we have to get dressed, then brush our teeth and wash our face...etc. I think having them go together to the same school helps a lot. And, their classrooms are right across the hall from each other..how perfect is that?

Sweet boys all dressed and ready for school!

Anyway, I helped the big boys get ready and got Nicholas dressed and we were out the door (Josh went early to get things ready for his classes). I dropped Nicholas off at our neighbor/friend's house (Ms. Vickie). She agreed to watch him for me so I could be 100% present for the boys on their first day and getting them all settled in their classes. Nicholas was excited to spend some time at "Mickey Mouse's" house (what he calls her..too funny).

I then drove the long 1/2 mile or so drive to school..haha..love being so close! The boys were a little nervous, but excited. I took a picture of them right before we walked in (with their little backpacks on) :)

Noah's like "ok, Mom get this over with you're embarrassing me". Nate is holding his purple dolphin (they got to bring
a stuffed animal on the first day and that's what he picked).

We then went in and we first got Noah settled in his class. The first thing he told his teacher, Mrs. Graham was "I'm going to Disney World" umm..well, yes, but not until next year. :) He was so nervous, bless his heart. But, he did good. One negative thing was that his desk is next to "the girl" who wants to control him and be super bossy with him, so I'll have to have a chat with Mrs. Graham about that and hopefully he'll get moved soon :) Here's a pic of him at his desk with a bunch of school supplies on it.
I love how happy he looks. We've come a long way :)
Then I took my sweet baby to kindergarten. He was too cute. We put his stuff up in his cubby and found his seat. The little girl next to him said "What's his name?" and so it starts..haha. He started to color his coloring sheet. The only negative thing was that his teacher wasn't able to be there on the first day. She just lost her Mom and the funeral was the day before. But, it didn't seem to phase my "go with the flow" kid. The next day when I took him back to Ms. Ford's class she said "He's different from brother!" She remembered how long it took for Noah to get used to school. Nate put his stuff up and sat right down like he'd been doing it for weeks :) When I picked him up from school I asked him how it was and he said it was "awesome!". I think he's going to love it.

"Okay Mom, that's enough pictures".

Both of the boys had a great first day. I think Noah was glad to see some of his friends from last year. I also think that Mrs. Graham is going to be great for him. I believe that Nathanael is going to have a great year too and I know Mrs. Ford is wonderful because Noah thrived in her class.  I'm so thankful for NCS..I feel like the boys have a bunch of mamas (and Dad..haha) there to look out for them. It's a great "family-like" Christian environment. Excited about the 2013-14 school year!!
